    Golf League

    Tues, Aug 21 - August 28, 5:20 pm

It's Golf time, polish up those clubs. This is a FUN golf group- we are not all great golfers, just enjoying the sport, friends and the outdoors.

We didn't have enough for a league, so we will be playing 'Pay as you Go' which means you can come to any one or all the dates. No prior commitments more than 1-2 weeks in advance. They are county courses, we play 9 holes and all the courses have carts available I you want one.

I can't make reservations until 2 weeks prior, so can't confirm that we have that park or time slot until reservations are made. So, if you are interested, please call, text or email me and I will let you know for sure where we are playing.

If you think you might be interested in some of the dates, let me know and I can add you to the weekly email list with confirmations of the site and time.

We try to start at 5:20pm or as close to that as I can get and then after golf get together for drinks/food and bragging rights about how great we all did (lol)!

The tentative schedule is below along with the gathering place for after.

“Face of Winter,” the 69th installment from Warren Miller Entertainment presented by Volkswagen

    Cost $20

Loving the pure joy of winter is something we have in common with the late, great Warren Miller—who helped create and capture the magic of skiing. This year, “Face of Winter,” the 69th installment from Warren Miller Entertainment presented by Volkswagen, will bring new and veteran athletes alike together to pay tribute to the man who started it all.

Watch as the world’s best skiers and riders cover ground in some of the most legendary destinations to honor a face that launched a thousand quips and got us all started on this long, crazy ride. Visit some of Warren’s favorite locations from Switzerland to Chamonix, British Columbia to Alaska, Chile, Iceland, New Zealand and more.

Come along to far off regions, meet the locals, carve faces of remote mountain ranges, and celebrate the thrills of a life lived in high places.

Join in the tribute and continue the legacy. We are all the “Face of Winter.”

The beautiful and friendly Lionshead village is completely closed off to cars and buses, offering a short walk to the Eagle Bahn gondola, Chair 8 (Born Free Express), the Arrabelle Square outdoor ice rink (with skate rental), and numerous shops and restaurants.

Originally built in the late 60s, Lionshead was recently renovated in Austrian-inspired style. Long-time favorite restaurants Bart & Yeti’s and Garfinkel’s (Garf's to locals) anchor the diverse culinary scene. The Vail Chop House and Tavern at Vail Square offer more upscale dining options as well as a great place for slope-side cocktails. There is a mix of shopping, from luxury goods to much-loved outdoor lifestyle brands like Burton, Patagonia, Salomon and The North Face. Also, the walk between Lionshead and Vail Village only takes 10-15 minutes, or there is a complimentary In-Town bus that runs regularly, all day long and well into the evening.

Known locally as "Colorado's Perfect Ski Mountain," Copper’s naturally divided terrain which ranges from beginner to extreme assures that any type of skier will have a truly enjoyable experience. Off slope, Copper features three recently completed base villages that have redefined the Copper experience.

The American Eagle lift, a high-speed quad, will be replaced with a high- speed lift that includes a combination of both 6-person chairs and 8-person gondola cabins. The new lift will increase uphill capacity by over 40 percent, allowing more skiers and snowboarders access to an abundance of Copper’s intermediate terrain.

A high-speed 6-person chair with bubble enclosures is set to replace the high-speed quad known as the American Flyer lift, offering a more comfortable ride and greatly increasing uphill capacity. The new lift will primarily serve the easy and intermediate side of the resort’s unique naturally-divided terrain and also will provide expedited access to Copper’s advanced high alpine bowls.

If you think Copper is just skiing & snowboarding … think again. Kick off the boots and scope out the other activities Copper has to offer. The Aspen/Snowmass Experience

Anyplace else this would be four separate vacations. Snowmass, Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands and Buttermilk – with more than 5,300 acres of terrain and boundless dining and nightlife, there are more than enough reasons to plan a ski trip to the most exciting winter escape in the world.  Four mountains, one lift ticket – experience The Power of Four.

    Image result for snowmass MOUNTAIN

A consistently well-ranked family ski vacation destination, The resort is a favorite ski resort for skiers and snowboarders of all levels and terrain preferences. Snowmass' impressive 3,000-plus acres offers terrain ranging from wide-open groomers to playful glades and gullies to steep, backcountry-like runs.

At Snowmass, you could spend your entire trip skiing and riding its terrain without covering the same ground twice. From the choice expert terrain of Burnt Mountain Glades, High Alpine and the Cirque, to the long blue groomers and impressive beginner facilities for newcomers, it is an easy choice.

    Image result for aspen photos

At Aspen Mountain you can ski down the same runs that hosted last year's World Cup finals, ride through gladed powder stashes, chase after the snowcat-towed Oasis Champagne Bar, or put together one quad-burning top-to-bottom after another. And all of this is just steps away from downtown Aspen. No wonder this mountain is a legend.

In fact, Aspen Mountain doesn't have any green runs on it, so beginner skiers or snowboarders will want to avoid the mountain. Aspen Mountain has nearly 3,000-plus vertical feet every run via the Silver Queen Gondola. From high-speed, steep groomers to challenging mogul runs to technical tree runs, Aspen has terrain options for every type of advanced to expert skiers and snowboarders. Intermediate skiers have some unique gully cruisers to zip down.

Of the four mountains, Aspen Highlands avoids the spotlight, which is perfectly fine with the locals and in-the-know skiers and riders who tackle its uncrowded slopes. Hike the ridge to Highland Bowl for the sweetest run of your life, or simply cruise along the mid-mountain groomers off the Cloud Nine chairlift.

Image result for buttermilk mountain photos

Buttermilk is one mountain with two personalities. Best known around the world for being home to the Winter X Games and the Red Bull Double Pipe event, the mountain has become an icon for freestyle riders and skiers, who hit up the Buttermilk Park to see what they’re made of. But the mountain is also easy-going for beginners.
