Camping Cost: $8.00 per adult night – children under 18 free. No need to RSVP – pay at camp.
Note: Bring your own food, snacks & beverages – campfire wood is furnished.
Bring a chair to sit around the evening campfire. A pit toilet building is located nearby and there are flush toilets and showers in the main camping area.
Arrive and Leave on any day. General schedule of events:
Wed Aug 19 – Campsite opens at 3:00 pm
Thur Aug 20 – Schedule your own activities
Fri Aug 21 – Campers who want to canoe the Kickapoo can rent canoes and kayaks from Drifty’s located by the Highway 33 Bridge in Ontario, WI. Recommend launch at 12 noon for a 3-4 hour trip. Be there at 11:00 am to pay for your canoe/kayak. Tell Drifty’s you will park your car at the Bridge 5 Canoe Landing and request an 11:30 shuttle back to the launch site. Note: The Kickapoo Valley Reserve requires a parking day pass ($5.00) at any of the landings. You can purchase a day pass online( http://kickapoovalley.wi.gov/Home) – plan ahead.
Fri Evening – Campfire trivia contest hosted by Miki Brill/Sue Richardson (Bring Quarters) - if your team misses the answer
Sat Aug 22 – Biking the Elroy-Sparta State Park Trail. Bring your bike if you want to experience the bike trail. Bike rentals are also available in Wilton. Other possible side trips include Amish shopping (maps available at camp) and the Kickapoo Valley Reserve Visitor Center.
Sun Aug 23 – Campground closes at 3:00 pm.
