The Aspen/Snowmass Experience
Anyplace else this would be four separate vacations. Snowmass, Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands and Buttermilk – with more than 5,300 acres of terrain and boundless dining and nightlife, there are more than enough reasons to plan a ski trip to the most exciting winter escape in the world. Four mountains, one lift ticket – experience The Power of Four.
SNOWMASS
A consistently well-ranked family ski vacation destination, The resort is a favorite ski resort for skiers and snowboarders of all levels and terrain preferences. Snowmass' impressive 3,000-plus acres offers terrain ranging from wide-open groomers to playful glades and gullies to steep, backcountry-like runs.
At Snowmass, you could spend your entire trip skiing and riding its terrain without covering the same ground twice. From the choice expert terrain of Burnt Mountain Glades, High Alpine and the Cirque, to the long blue groomers and impressive beginner facilities for newcomers, it is an easy choice.
ASPEN
At Aspen Mountain you can ski down the same runs that hosted last year's World Cup finals, ride through gladed powder stashes, chase after the snowcat-towed Oasis Champagne Bar, or put together one quad-burning top-to-bottom after another. And all of this is just steps away from downtown Aspen. No wonder this mountain is a legend.
In fact, Aspen Mountain doesn't have any green runs on it, so beginner skiers or snowboarders will want to avoid the mountain. Aspen Mountain has nearly 3,000-plus vertical feet every run via the Silver Queen Gondola. From high-speed, steep groomers to challenging mogul runs to technical tree runs, Aspen has terrain options for every type of advanced to expert skiers and snowboarders. Intermediate skiers have some unique gully cruisers to zip down.
ASPEN HIGHLANDS
Of the four mountains, Aspen Highlands avoids the spotlight, which is perfectly fine with the locals and in-the-know skiers and riders who tackle its uncrowded slopes. Hike the ridge to Highland Bowl for the sweetest run of your life, or simply cruise along the mid-mountain groomers off the Cloud Nine chairlift.
BUTTERMILK
Buttermilk is one mountain with two personalities. Best known around the world for being home to the Winter X Games and the Red Bull Double Pipe event, the mountain has become an icon for freestyle riders and skiers, who hit up the Buttermilk Park to see what they’re made of. But the mountain is also easy-going for beginners.
